Gear shifts between the top few gears are imperceptible, while the smaller steps between the remainder ensure less 'busyness' within the transmission as it determines the right gear.
And when the transmission is in the right gear at the right time, you improve performance and use less fuel.

Next generation Anti-lock
Across the entire range your connection to the road is strengthened by standard ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and traction control. The result is more precise handling and minimised wheel spin for unbelievable control and driver confidence.
Falcon Ute's anti-lock braking system ultimately protects the driver and helps maintain steering control in emergency braking situations.

The Ford Traction Control System
For the first time the Ford Traction Control System (TCS)* is available on all Ford Falcon XR Utes. TCS limits wheel spin during acceleration. It helps the driver to remain in control under heavy acceleration that can occur taking off on slippery roads, negotiating a hill or accelerating out of a corner.
TCS brakes the driven wheel, when it demonstrates a tendency to spin and adapts the engine torque maximum traction.
